A one acre, hillside garden of particular interest to landscape architects and anyone interested in planting design.
This is the home garden of Nigel Dunnett, featuring extensive areas of naturalistic perennial planting and large-scale log-pile sculptures on a steeply sloping hillside north of Sheffield with views of the Pennines.
Strong ecological and sustainable gardening theme with a wide range of different types of designed annual and perennial meadows; a Bluebell woodland; Sand Garden; Swedish Garden, and unusual annuals. A front garden pool, rain gardens and bioswales.
The garden is an experimental working environment, testing out different methods of planting and combinations that might be used more widely.
Featured in Gardens Illustrated, August 2019.
Signed copies of books by Nigel Dunnett will be on sale.
Also open as part of Sheffield Gardens, Sunday 12 July.
