“It’s been fun”
A popular venue that’s been open inside Sheffield shopping centre Meadowhall for almost four years has announced its closure.
Clubhouse, which offered a range of games including bowling, darts and mini golf, has already closed its doors and made a farewell announcement on social media.
In it, they thank people for their custom over the years, while also teasing what may be happening at the large space on Lower Park Lance inside the megamall in the future months.
Statement in full:
“After four brilliant years, Clubhouse Meadowhall has now closed its doors.
“A massive thank you to everyone who has visited, played, eaten, drank, celebrated and partied with us over the years. It’s been a ride and we’re incredibly proud of what we created.
“The good news is the space won’t be quiet for long. Clubhouse has been acquired and you may have already heard about a pretty exciting new venue heading into our space very soon…
“For anyone with an upcoming booking, we’ll be in touch over the next few days with everything you need to know.
“For now, thank you Sheffield. It’s been fun. Team Clubhouse x”
Described as a ‘competitive socialising experience’ at the time of opening, Clubhouse was the first venue of its kind located in Lower Park Lane to hold a late license.
Jack Pendlebury, Director at Clubhouse, said at the time of opening: “We’re so excited to see our vision come to life and finally open the doors after all our hard work. We couldn’t have picked a better location than Meadowhall to launch our new venture, and we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of new faces to experience everything we have to offer.”
The decision to close the often-bustling space has been met with sadness online.
Zoe A Frederickk said: “You should be very proud of what you created at Meadowhall. A fantastic space with an incredible team.”
Louise Richmond-Smith added: “We loved it here, Walked past today and came looking to see if ti was temporary.”
Katie Pemberton said: “Oh no. This is our favourite thing about Meadowhall. Tucked away in the posh end. I hope the new owners keep it the same.”
