Beer experts have named a popular Sheffield pub as the best in the city.
Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) have announced the winner of their Pub of the Year Award 2026, after a panel of judges finished a tour of the venues, which they have been carrying out.

Built in the 1830s as part of a terrace, and originally called The Sawmaker, it was later renamed the White Hart, and in the early 1990s became the Kelham Island Tavern, but closed soon after the change.
But the derelict building was re-opened as the Kelham Island Tavern again in 2002, specialising in real ales. By the following year, it was rated best real ale pubs in Yorkshire.

After a refurbishment following the 2007 Sheffield flood, it won the National CAMRA pub of the year award for 2008, and took the title again the following year, becoming the first pub to win the title two years running.
It has also won the Yorkshire Pub of the Year title in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and it has now also taken the title of Sheffield Pub of the Year on 19 occasions.
Announcing the winner, CAMRA said in a statement: “Since 2019, under the management of Josh and Louise, it has continued to offer a wide range of both cask and craft beers – always including a stout, porter, and a selection of IPAs and bitters.
“The beer range is consistently excellent, always featuring at least one from local brewery Blue Bee. The pub also boasts an excellent rear beer garden and maintains the standards to which many others aspire. A simple snack menu is available, including pork pies.
“We would also like to once again offer warm congratulations to the other branch area winners – the Dog & Partridge, the Blake Hotel, the Sheaf View, the Rising Sun, the Chantry Inn, and the Red Lion at Litton. They certainly all gave the Kelham Island Tavern a run for its money.”
The award is due to be presented on Tuesday June 30.
